Training at shipwelfarevisitor.com
There are many ways you can support our work… Consider becoming an volunteer/intern ship visitor. Our representatives go through online and classroom training programs. Maritime ministries have undergone profound developments in the last generation. Those involved in seafarers’ welfare and ministry need to continue to develop professionally to help their work adapt to changing realities. The course is designed for new chaplains, ship visitors and volunteers, but should also be useful for those who have experience in maritime ministry, but wish to sharpen their skills.
We have a multi phase training programs that allow for various levels of involvement including online, internships, OSHA safety and advanced classroom chaplain school. As a member of the North American Maritime Ministry Association we hold to the best practices in ship visitation and seafarer welfare.
Aren’t ready to visit and board ships yet? Here are some other ways you can join the port logistics & prayer support team.
- We need your support through tangible in-kind contributions of new bibles, candies, devotionals, hygiene kits and other gifts.
- Volunteer in our Seafarers Center office by helping us to schedule visits, transport crew and other related services to the seafaring traveler.
- Most important we always welcome your prayers and have a regular Wednesday evening prayer meeting at the center from 6-7pm.
“Father, all the elements of nature obey your command. Calm the storms that threaten us and turn our fear of your power into praise for your goodness. Grant this through Our Lord and Savior, Your only begotten Son, who lives and reigns with you the one true God, for ever and ever.”
